@Rzz0 said in Making Squads/Gangs Unique: "NNB's vision is to be a leading and dynamic law enforcement agency in the fight against drugs and to make San Andreas drug-free." - taken from their topic a squad based on fighting against drugs, will sell drugs high iq Police is here to prevent the crime and arrest people, but they still have the option to take bribe, even though that's exactly the opposite of what they should be doing. Cop with access to drugs could be just as corrupt and sell that. @Rzz0 said in Making Squads/Gangs Unique: imagine the rage from the copside KEK Nothing to rage about if they get cool things too.

Greetings peasants. Today I'd like to start a discussion concerning gangs/squads and how similar they are to each other at this point of time. Currently, one squad has access to everything that all other squads have as well, same goes for gangs minus ability to choose what they'd like to /sell. Differences between a gang/squad and another gang/squad falls down to small things like different skins, different name, different roleplay story (not always) or different choice of basic weapons and most importantly, different members. To sum the point up: Everything that FOX can have, ICE can have too, although their roles are entirely different. Everything that CripZ have, AA can have too, although their roles are entirely different. This makes all squads practically identical to other squads and gangs identical to other gangs. What I'd personally like to see is making both gangs and squads different from other gangs and squads, giving them unique things that fit their roleplay, which other squad/gang would not have access to. AA roleplays arms dealers, so why not give them access to some weapons unavailable to other players or even make them able to sell some, like dual colt or uzi. NNB are narcotics based so they could be able to sell drugs, maybe get a police dog as third spawn. Tuga Thugs are martial arts oriented, so why not give them a knife, allow TST to have otherwise unavailable flying vehicles as they're air based and so on and so on. Each gang/squad could have its unique ability. Of course, it'd all have to be nicely balanced and the examples I wrote above are the first thoughts I came up with of so take them with a grain of salt. The point stands, currently g/s are almost identical to one another and to my belief it would be way more interesting to make them unique.

What I imagine when you say SAES voice chat is a bunch of high pitch voice Tunisian kids speaking in weird languages, people raging and insulting each other over the mic, a lot of "GET REKT BOIIIIIIIII" every time someone gets a kill and playing weird sounds/music. Effectively monitoring who's abusing the voice function also seems difficult if not impossible, if you /report someone then you can't add a screenshot of someone's voice, chat logs can't show voice either obviously. Players would need to make a recording and report via forums or have an admin come and hear for himself. Being able to block people's voices individually like /ignore helps but it might end up being major annyance, especially for new players.

[Suggestion] Local Chat above characters
DROT replied to Majima's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
@Bangas said in [Suggestion] Local Chat above characters: Imagine having 20 persons in the same local!? Also how can this be usefull if you are keeping the LocalChat? I can't see that... That is how most roleplay games out there work, they have local chat both in bubble and chat window. As for 20 people talking in local chat, the difference is that you can look over their head and simply read the message. If there are no bubbles you have to read the normal chat window. Now those 20 people are all talking in that chat window, but you are also getting party messages, PM's, CC chat, global, team chat, radio and more, all in that tiny chat box in the corner. Realisitcally, bubbles are easier to keep track of. As for screenshots, pretty sure that /showchat could be made to hide the bubbles too. -
[Suggestion] Local Chat above characters

Yes, in a crowd of people it's hard to keep track of who's saying what without staring at the chat at all times or missing something out. This would make it easier. -
@Howlze said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: You talk a lot about roleplaying in your topic, but, what I don't get is - isn't the part of roleplaying to be as realistic as possible? Acting in a specific character - sticking to this character. Having criminals being able to spawn as a - not just police officer - but a Professional Police Officer, in my book, doesn't make any sense. You're suggesting that people only roleplay as one character, that is not true. If it were the case however, let's call your character John Doe; he is an average policeman. At some point you get access to DE spawn. Does that mean that John Doe is now also a policeman and a serving member of the army? You decided to stay in SAPA after getting PC, so John Doe is also an instructor. Eventually you join SWAT, then some groups follow; HLS, ALT, Centrino, SA News and SAP. At this point, John Doe is a certified police officer that actively serves as infantry in the army, in the meantime he teaches cadets at the police academy. On the side he is also a Homeland Security director, who is also a SWAT recruit. Let's not forget that he also drives trucks and taxi for a living, but only after he comes home from his work as a news reporter. Oh yes, secretly he is a pirate. This isn't realistic, it is the exact opposite. That is why people have several characters, John Doe is a police officer, Jim Jimmy is a soldier, Dick Longbottom is the Homeland Security director, they aren't all the same person, they are just being played by the same player. From roleplay perspective alone, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to make a character that is a gang member, while making another that is a police officer. You're not restricted to roleplaying only one character, all it takes is to change your name and think of a backstory. Mind, this relates only to your point concerning roleplay and realism, gameplay balance is entirely different topic.

@Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: You are the one who jeopardized PC by randomly inviting people into your squad (blacklisted ones too oops), you killed the motive of PC because irrespective of the qualification of the person, you didn't care, so it is really ironic to see it coming from you. So in one moment you're telling me that purpose of PC is for getting into squad, at another you're telling me that you never said it. Now you're again at it, just with focus on SWAT for some reason. I am killing the PC because we invite people with no PC into our squad? We couldn't give a shit from squad perspective whether you have PC or not as it is roleplay related. You don't get qualified for our squad based on some traffic tickets roleplay sessions, you aren't considered pro just because SAPA taught you how to use left or right turnlight. At this point I'll just stop arguing with you since you insist on keeping it personal and hostile. For the last time, this is not a vote, you are not here to decide what is or isn't going to happen. It is a question. If this is the sort of reaction you have every time someone asks a question you don't personally like, boy you're into an interesting life. And I'll take no part of it. Regardless, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

@Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: Ever read what others type instead of bashing replies? Which part of my comment says that PC only exists to join a squad? I said it was INTENDED for cops and not all players. @Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: It's main purpose was never RPing, but to show that a person was familiar with the law enforcement side and had enough experience before they joined a squad. @Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: It was NEVER intended for ALL players, only for COPS that were willing to get certified for a better chance in a squad. @Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: People joined SAPA only because they either wanted to become an instructor or to move on to an elite squad(lvl 4,5). Now as for your latest randomly capitalized word, it doesn't matter what it was INTENDED for. Your parents didn't intend on having you until one day they did. In 2010 special police spawns were not intended to become squads, until one day they did. DDT was not made with intention to become CeM, until one day it did. Trucking scripts were not were not intended to become trucking vol.2, until one day they did. Tractor was intended for farming, until one day in WW1 some guy turned it into a tank instead. I could go on for hours listing all the things that were not INTENDED for this or that, but became something else with time. The sole fact that sometime in the past someone did not intend to do something, is not an argument as to why it shouldn't happen in the future. The topic provides you with a very simple question but you'd rather make it hostile and personal for whichever reason. I will gladly discuss with you given that you come up with an actual argument and manage to keep track of what you wrote yourself.

@Stay said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: yeah it doesn't matter if we're voting 'NO' Indeed it doesn't because this isn't a vote, it is a question. We're asking for your opinion, not your vote. If I ask you how you feel about the rain, that doesn't mean that you get to choose whether it will rain or not. The goal of this topic is to find out what the playerbase thinks about this subject, nothing more, nothing less.

@Joshbond said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: why bother staying in a squad when you can join a gang and get ALOT more options for joining varied groups and still play as a cop... You are saying this as if PC offers the same that squads do. Spawn-wise, PC is a State Trooper in a prettier skin with access to roleplay scripts. Do you see people leaving their squad to join a gang because they can spawn as State Trooper? Or do you presume that squad members only stay in their squad because of PC membership? Common practice is getting PC only to improve chances to join a squad.

@Pegasus said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: It is sad to see that the leader of a squad completely misses the point of PC diploma. It was NEVER intended for ALL players, only for COPS that were willing to get certified for a better chance in a squad. People joined SAPA only because they either wanted to become an instructor or to move on to an elite squad(lvl 4,5). Speaking of missing the point, you just aced it. If this was the case and PC existed only to easily join a squad or an organization, we may delete the PC spawn entirely and just give people a forum title instead. PC has dozen of scripts made specifically for cop roleplay, not for you to get into a squad easier.

@Skerdi said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: Btw isnt this to be discussed by sapd hq? And our vote here looks like doesn't matter. Why just not suggest it to sapd and sapa hq and let them choose. Since we know, crims will vote yes, cops will vote no, and this topic will go through rage and repetitive opinions again and again. @Tut-Greco This is not a vote, it's an inquiry. We are asking you what your opinions are on the subject.

@Pera98 said in Pro Cop (PC) for Criminals: Explain to me please, as if i was the dumbest person on SAES (which im starting to think that i might just be) how does this bring any balance on CrimVCop issue? Player gets chance to become PC Player must spend a month in SAPA (increased cop activity) If player is skilled enough to complete same program that cops must to get PC (SAPA, PC test), they get PC. To use any perks of Pro Cop group, player must be spawned on cop team. (increased cop acitivtiy x2) Player uses PC = Player is spawned cop = More players spawned cop I made it as simple as I could for you.

Hello! This is more so a question than suggestion, share how you feel concerning possibility of gang members joining Pro Cops. It is important to understand what PC is and what possibilities the spawn realisitically brings, before jumping to any conclusions. PC is a group with primary focus on roleplay, portraying everyday policemen and initiating roleplay with criminals rather than immediately rushing for arrest. This goes for all spawns that become available to player that joins he Pro Cops group. Players using any PC spawn are obligated to attempt and roleplay with the wanted person before attempting arrest, with exception of events (sr/br/jb/turf). What do Pro Cops have access to? More regular vehicles already available to trainees/state troopers. Nightstick, taser, shotgun, spray, similar to State Trooper - No lethal weapons and low ammo count. Dispatcher spawn, able to request from other cops to arrest a certain player, same function as K panel that all cops including trainees have - Can not arrest, has no weapons. Detective spawn, able to investigate script-spawned crime scenes - Can not arrest, has no weapons, roleplay spawn. Can spawn in some smaller towns. Dog spawn, increased running speed and bite effect slows the wanted player down, identical to rubber shotgun - Can not arrest. Can deploy stingers. Overall, PC does not bring any powerful boosts to the player with exception of stingers that criminals are currently able to get access to via SAI membership. Its spawns are created to initiate or enchance roleplay situations, not to offer any real advantage to members over other players. The group fields many interesting scripts as of now unavailable to any other group/spawn, which however do not bring advantage over criminals. What about rulebreakers? It is widely known that PC disciplinary actions are borderline tyrannical with any sort of situation where the PC member abuses provided spawns/equipment or uses them in means not stated by PC rules, always ends with a kick or long term suspension. The only way to become member of PC is via minimum of four long weeks in SAPA with numerous tests completed, ending with another final PC test and probation period of one more month. All this taken into consideration, probability of any PC member taking the risk to try and abuse their spawn with high risk of losing it, is very, very low. It is likely that PC is the group with lowest count of rulebreaks. Why even think about it? As should be evident by now, PC has access to variety to interesting roleplay-enchancing features. These features are currently available to a small number of players when taking general playerbase into consideration. Commonly we're able to see 30 cops online compared to 100 criminals. Only a few of those cops have access to PC, while the large majority of server (80%) can not even get a chance to join. Allowing gang members to take the same SAPA route and obtain PC would encourage more players to take on the roleplay of police officer. It is hard to think of a reason why players that decided to join a gang should not be able to roleplay as cops, or be limited to trainee/state trooper spawns, while PC is a group with exactly that purpose, giving players more roleplay material while offering no real advantage over the criminals. Additionally, groups like SAPA and PC itself may profit from increased activity. Congratulations if you've made it this far, that was quite a bit of text to read! Please have a thought about everything of the above and share your opinion.

@Spicey said in NPC drug dealers: Cops With Drugs on BR/JB thats insane Wow you got kill/arrest if get drugs too Thats he will be full unfair for criminals Cops already respawn as drug dealers to sell drugs to each other during jb/br you dimwit, everyone and their mother knows that. If this suggestion got implemented, they would still spawn as drug dealers to be closer to jb/br anyway. It changes nothing from point of power balance.

@Markus said in Spotify: @DROT said in Spotify: Enabling youtube links to be played via M url searchbar would be great too! All that converting and stream links is a pain in the ass. I think that has the same copyright policy Hardly, there is already an option for admins to play direct YouTube links via portable radio, there is also YouTube option in cinema alongside Twitch which opens the youtube itself, not just running url like M does. With those already existing, I can't think of a valid reason as to why M is limited to mp3 stream urls which is impractical and often complicated.
