@drot said in New police spawn: I don't really see how any of this is a reason why state troopers shouldn't have access to police Buffalo. Not roleplaying helps to ignore the reasons obviously. @crash said in New police spawn: What do you mean SWAT doesn't role-play , Everytime we are out on patrol hunting down high wanted criminals we are role-playing as SWAT role not our fault people think that a role-play is to ask you to stop the car get out do /sur and "let you go with a warning" Regarding the post itself like drot said and I see many gang members do is spawn and have some fun arresting why restric the only thing that allows you to keep up with the cars Ingame right now Roleplaying according to protocol is something that SWAT doesn't do. Even when you manage to pull over a suspect you can easily roleplay bringing him to the jail, done USUALLY on all SERIOUS roleplay servers. So yeah, SWAT does not roleplay during their arrests. About what you mentioned, true, this is not a strict rp server but it doesn't mean that usual players should have the chance to ruin every single pullover roleplay by just pulling up to you and arresting your suspect. This is an RPG server, which means that the RP is part of it, but not a must.

@joshbond said in New police spawn: To be a police constable you must have 200 hours in game and must make an application to the SAPD which will be required to be accepted to gain access to the spawn. This gives the SAPD more to do as they don't do much at the moment, lets be honest. Never knew that we had something like this, specially with the application process.

@drot said in New police spawn: @starwars said in New police spawn: People who aren't interested in the serious police role and want ot arrest randomly should not be given easy ways. (Talking about access to pc vehicles by the troopers). Serious police role? Few things come to mind next to arresting, which from your words seem like the exact opposite. Or do you perhaps presume that only RP is serious enough? Let's say that I'm a player which prefers not to be member of a squad, this doesn't mean that I should be crippled by only having access to slow police cars! You might now say; yes but you can join PC! Whatsoever with PC, RP pull-overs are mandatory and once again I'd be set multiple restrictions all in order to get a slightly faster car which then again I must primarily use for RP purposes. At the end of the day in this scenario I'm an experienced player with solid amount of time spent in game, who wants to chase and arrest wanted players. For what reason should I be denied access to faster(normal) cars? Lets not forget that this is an RPG server, and mainly focuses on "Role Play Game", or, SAES "San Andreas Emergency Services". All of that stands for roleplay purposes, and if you are not interested in roleplaying, I highly doubt this is a good server for your preferences. True, this is not a strict roleplay server, but it is still supposed to go ALONG with the roleplay. If you prefer just running around, killing and arresting, plenty of deathmatching servers are out there. If you're an experienced player with solid amount of time spent in game you would not simply and plainly want to chase wanted players and arrest them without the tiniest chance or idea of offering a roleplay. There are other options, SWAT for an instance doesn't offer roleplay during their arrests. Regarding your complains, it would make things easier for EXPERIENCED players with DECENT amount of hours and ENOUGH brains to not to RANDOMLY arrest LEFT and RIGHT ruining ALL the roleplays. What I offer is an "EASY" for once again an "EXPERIENCED" member to get access to "DECENT" vehicles. And restrict it from the use of abusive and annoying players which have 0 interest in respecting other players.

On behalf of S.A. Elite SEALs I gladly announce that we are willing to help out with the ride by establishing a secure perimeter around the riders with our vehicles. Feel free to contact me or any member of the HQ team on discord with detailed information about the route and we will gladly join you. It was a great loss for our squad, and we will do all what we can to pay our respect.

@joshbond said in New police spawn: Oh I see, just a different name. State Trooper could work but what about a warden name? That is quite the question, if anyone has an idea, feel free to suggest it, to be fair I lack imagination for such things.
-
@joshbond said in New police spawn: @starwars said in New police spawn: Instead of this, I would just replace with such a system the State Trooper spawn. People who aren't interested in the serious police role and want ot arrest randomly should not be given easy ways. (Talking about access to pc vehicles by the troopers). I do support this idea fully. I dont fully understand exactly what you mean? Care to explain further mate? Well I don't really know how to explain that other than "State Trooper = Police Constable" Just remove what used to be the state trooper, leave the trainees, and add the new role which you suggest.

Damage multiplier script for crouching with 1-handed weapons
StarWars replied to Tut's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
@felix said in Damage multiplier script for crouching with 1-handed weapons: Maybe better aiming when crouched and bad aim standin up? Pff... The thing is... GTA already does that in some way, you are way more accurate while crouched... I don't really like how the suggestion sounds as it's a bit pointless in my opinion. -
allow crims to kill drug dealers who sell to cops
StarWars replied to TaaviLaudur's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
The problem with this is obviously the deathmatching. Instead of encoraging players to kill drugdealers implement a system which would punish the cops. Either by stars, or whatever, but I do not really support the idea of "Killing players for selling" About the reality which you're all talking about, let's not bring that up, saes is an rpg server, not a strict roleplay one, so lets leave that aside. I do support the idea of the drugs not allowed to cops, but instead add some other advantage to the cop side, either some stimulants, or some syringes with adrenaline, or whatever, and for example the medics could sell that. After all, even if some sort of punishment to the cops will be implemented, they will find a way to work around it. -
I really don't see why this isn't a good idea, it would add variety to the activities which are on the server, +1 from me.

Connecting in-game chats with discord and vice versa
StarWars replied to JohnPrice's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
@silence said in Connecting in-game chats with discord and vice versa: I'm not interested in what goes on in our CC while I'm offline. It does not concern me. I don't see why we would need this? @johnprice said in Connecting in-game chats with discord and vice versa: I was talking mainly about CC chat. Well then someone would have to configure each cc chat to a specific discord channel, limit the users to just that certain channel, assign roles to every member of every g/s/c as soon as he joins and leaves it and so on.. In my opinion it's highly unefficient and quite frankly limited, also, do you really need a log of all what's going on in your cc chat? If you do, you really have trust issues I guess. -
@bas260 said in Radio usage for trainees: It's also those annoying gang members with their cop. tags. Spawning as medic and not using the radio properly. That is already very annoying. Cough @System31 Cough

Connecting in-game chats with discord and vice versa
StarWars replied to JohnPrice's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
Well, I don't really know how useful keeping a log of the global chat is, aside of that, I don't really see a useful application to this aside of the logs. It would be useful as a pm system, yes, but it wouldn't work as your pm's would essentially be public, so not really sure if that's any good... About the organization, yeah, probably CC chat would be useful, but it's shared, so essentially, everyone would see eachother's cc.. Still bad.. I just.. Don't know how useful that is? Keeping a log of the global chat? I don't really see that anything important would be said on the global chat, and even less something important that would be directed straight to you... So.. From my point of view, don't really see it useful. -

Well, the handcuffs which protected you against an arrest were heavily supported and the only reason why that suggestion is gone are the forums. I don't really see what's the issue and how can it be abused if the system is implemented the right way. One of the many reasons why the criminals do not pull over are the casual trainees which interrupt the roleplay, this could affect and reduce the ammount of such rulebreaks.

Playlist in tablet and sound suggestions
StarWars replied to Phoenix's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
With the playlist suggestion that wouldn't be a problem. Right? -
So now you wanna see all kind of Russian and Turkish not just in team chat as soon as you spawn as PC, but also on the radio.. Hm... Interesting in educational purposes, you might pretty much learn any insult in the world with such a system. On the serious side of things, even people who have access to the radio misuse it WAY too much then needed, now imagine a two hour trainee swearing on someone who took his arrest for 5 hours on the radio just the way they used to do it by team chat earlier.

Playlist in tablet and sound suggestions
StarWars replied to Phoenix's question in Suggestions / Changes - Archive
For the playlist suggestion, yeah, makes sense, can't see anything wrong with that. About the shared music, can't agree. If you want to listen music with your friend, you can do it by staying in the same vehicle and playing your music right after your friend got in. Voil, you're listening to music with your friends, and it works up to as many passengers as the vehicle can fit. -
Well, to begin with... Criminals spend at some times more then a full hour in the jail, camping and killing the cops, they barely loose any money as they constantly sell guns and drugs to each other, in some cases even earning money from the new inmates that got arrested and sent to jail. So now you not only want them to camp and sustain themselves buy buying and selling and essentially keeping an almost endless stream of cash (That's not really true, but still they do "minimize" the loss on weapons during a jailbreak) but you also offer them even more cash so they don't even need to buy from each other to get enough money for more ammo and more drugs.. What seems to me the most funny part out of this suggestion is it's ending, you attempt to suggest a frankly quite terrible suggestion and ask for people to not to react to it.. Makes sense. @sherap said in Cop killed = Cash ( Jail ): Note : If you are an immature cop and can not see the injustices present in this you do not need to criticize or cry in the comments, thank you.]~(red) Thanks , SheraP

Well, when I joined saes with my nickname as "starwarsfan" I've got into a fight with a guy that already was here in 2011, he was accusing me of stealing his nickname.. He used to be in SAPA... I think it's needless to say who that sapa guy is..

Information about the role-play: Title: Escorting an ALT truck Scenario: We've been called in to escort an important delivery from ALT's base to the White House. The trip went as smooth as possible, we've established an escort with two vehicles and made sure that the truck was sitting in between of us, so one of the units could react to the closest threat. Luckly, nothing happened and we safely got to the destination. Participators: @Alliances , @StarWars, @Zlatis13, @Flex. Role-play number: #14 Screenshots

Information about the role-play: Title: Small training Scenario: As we have been inspecting many bases I noticed as an instructor that some of the members are a bit less patient and lack some experience in searching the vehicles, so I decided to give them a proper lesson, and gave a few tips here and there. Participators: @Alexie , @StarWars, @Script100 Role-play number: #10 Screenshots
