  1. I want to say we're investigating our options with this, but if it ever comes to the point of us having to fully remove the Nitro component from the server, then we would like to make sure everyone knows what's up - currently the poll hasn't gained much traction, and so we might have to create a new poll if approved internally. I also want to make it clear that this is a minor QoL change which isn't much of a priority for us

  2. We don't have rules on how someone can use contents of another person's works, but moreso unwritten rules and the good old common sense. As a rule of thumb anything that people share with our services is protected between us and the author, and should not be used by anyone else without written consent to edit/redistribute said work. For example we action vehicle shader disputes and will reject edits of existing wraps without written consent of its author. We also give people the ability to lock their vehicle wraps to their username so that only they can use their wrap ingame. If you have evidence of people editing and/or using your skin shaders without your consent then try reaching GM about it, the same if you see an organization requesting this without your permission. I can't speak for using other people's works in promo videos because it depends on how it's being used

  3. We are occasionally discussing this topic internally, but whether it comes to fruition depends on a number of things. The server also shouldn't have mods on every vehicle, and so there's a sense of balance that needs to be maintained. You'll be glad to know it won't be long before the new Dodge Charger arrives on the server though

  4. Maps from other GTA games is something we have tried in the past but didn't find very beneficial for the server and ceased its development. With the server's playercount some areas in the map are more or less ghost towns and any large map expansions to come will face same fate, or result in lower density of players across the map. Jobs from the transportation industry might benefit from map expansions of this sort, but the general criminal/police playerbase not so much. There are MTA servers that trim down their map to just 1 city so to not keep players too far apart.

Maps of this scale can technically be implemented if you apply some clever approaches to how the world is streamed, but we'd still be looking at a great mandatory download size for something that won't benefit us much while also degrading the gameplay for some of the server population.

We would definitely have to rethink a large part of the server with such large expansions/changes and I'm sorry to say that's not in our current vision

  5. Coincidentally this month marks my 10 year anniversary with this community, and this place has been an invaluable experience and a highly supportive stepping stone for reaching for my interests and skills like many others have said. Truly a magical community that's made it through decades of hard work and perseverance, it really deserves all the best :classic_love:

  6. I'm going to close the suggestion with a few comments

Currently only the Clan polls mods. We monitor feedback across the server and other platforms for any mods people would be interested in however.

The Crown Vic mod will stay, unless the clan polls with enough votes in favor of removing it - but to that I will say it is unlikely to happen. As DROT said, we might be ok with replacing lesser used civilian vehicles if we were to poll a new police cruiser. The handling of the Crown Vic is something we're currently discussing, but the weight bonus for PIT maneuvres will stay.

The code that enables servers to set new ID's is not entirely consistent, for which reason we deem it unreliable at this point, but we have been keeping a close eye on its development since 2017 and are very interested in its possibilities. For this reason, the Huey mod that we discussed internally also didn't pass as it would take away the iconic Maverick from the community.

I also want to clarify that suggestions aren't decided by one single person, we usually review most internally with the clan and have development/creative which has a set of criterias for what can actually go on our server for quality and security reasons, help determine what works best for us. Also, of course we need to think about what does the server realistically need right now and, what is mostly just adding bloat/dead content

  7. There's one issue that makes PIT maneuver unreliable even with reworked handlings : player synch, and this server isn't alone in having to deal with this issue.

A few years ago we increased Crown Vic's weight in line with that of a larger van to more easily allow PIT manuevers, but for balancing reasons we didn't apply it to the rest of the police vehicles.

I think this is a bit of a trivial issue as usually you would play with squads so I don't know if anything really needs changing here, but an easier solution (not saying it's balanced) would be allowing cops to use small firearms from driver's side

  8. LOD does not improve performance in all cases as you would still need to display a second object on screen rather than zero. It's great if you have to display an object in the distance and don't want to load high detail that far away. For us I think the main reason we would want this is if there are tall trees that aircraft crash with, or players who drive high rates of speeds and aren't able to react in time to trees that load in areas where you would drive to reach SR's and race checkpoints. I'll see with the dev team

  9. The teams are mostly lurking around the suggestions forums and gathering feedback on how we can improve the server, and while it may look like we're ignoring players suggestions this really isn't the case. In order for a suggestion to pass you'll usually need to do some research and explore your options on how to bring content into the server, and this content needs to maintain a certain standard - it should be well structured, optimized and secure so that others in the teams are able to review and make changes. This means that taking a few code examples from the wiki or a community resource might not suffice even though it could greatly speed up development of the server.

As indicated in the 1.6 news post we have the second part of a major update simmering behind the scenes, bringing yet another portion of fun to the server, and while I'm not part of the development team I can tell you with confidence that what we are working on with the devs is something worth looking forwards to. You might also see a few suggestions make it to the game.

Some teams in the clan dedicate hours into keeping the community safe and sorting out any issues and admin requests, while others like to spend their time resolving bugs and adding regular updates which aren't kept waiting for the major version updates. We have a set of guidelines for server moderation, and I'm happy to let you know none of us enjoy issuing punishments but moderation is a vital part of managing larger communities. Punishments are not handed out left and right, and to prevent exactly that, there are teams who audit decisions made by the team and provide feedback where needed. Without the efforts by these teams and outstanding community members who take a step forwards to help, I'm not sure the community would sustain this long.

At the end of the day we are dealing with a 19 year old multiplayer modification with a great deal old code, and this naturally places a barrier between new people wanting to invest their time on this rather than projects on more recent game engines where possibilities are on another level. Some MTA servers have established themselves as "companies" and pay their "employees" while other server contributors charge for their works much like a freelancer would. Not all servers have the fundings to support this, which can be a contributing factor to less development. Be the change you want to see, whether that is helping out financially or contributing by other means!

  10. @mubeen said in [SUGGESTION] HYDRA DONATION REWARD:

@JohnnyEnglish I believe handling.cfg also includes aircrafts handling features such as thrust etc. So by bringing changes in them, handling can surely be changed. I found some attributes in the file, you can look at the screenshot.

You're right that aircraft handlings are defined in handling.cfg, but MTA servers does not use files from local installations - they use MTA functions which in this case would be setVehicleHandling. It has a note saying you can change aircraft velocity, but that doesn't quite suffice in most cases as you'll want to look at various other handling flags as well.
