Unless one of you comes up with an Idea that includes somewhat of a cooldown my statement remains, I dont see an alternative to this however.

It's simple really, if the /loc has even a 5 seconds cooldown - even though one player could be located basically nonstop because the location message would remain in the top bar for longer than 5 seconds - that would prevent people from using /loc on multiple players at once.

Everyone could still find whoever they need to with /loc and criminals could still locate that one cop who is chasing them. But /loc wouldn't be used to locate absolutely every player on cop team at once, at all times. I think that's a fair compromise.

In my point, then it should be removed for both sides. Its not normal for a police officer to locate a criminal with the K panel either. If we are gonna go by logic we should remove the function entirerly for everyone

Looking at this from "but in real life" perspective is hopeless, besides drawing inspiration from some aspects of real life SAES is miles away from it in all ways, I don't see why this one example would be different. It should instead be viewed from the perspective of gameplay balance, cops are getting their asses handed over to them in all activities with the exception of SRs and random individual encounters on patrols, they manage to do well in those situations by being able to locate and surprise wanted players in order to get close to them and land an arrest with melee nightstick attacks.

Criminal spawns having an ability to locate cops makes these encounters yet another activity that is a pain in the ass, meanwhile removing the K panel from cops would mean less interactions between players in general which can not be considered a good thing in any case. Cops need to locate and attempt to arrest criminals, that is their only purpose. Criminals do not need to be able to locate cops, macroing "/loc all cop names" was never an intended part of the gameplay and that's an undisputable fact. It almost entirely eliminated the stealth aspect of cop gameplay which was always important and present.

Criminals do not need to have an advantage in absolutely every single situation, sometimes they can be at a disadvantage just like cops so often are.

  3. Agreed, it's a misuse of the /loc function. Criminal spawns were never meant to be able to see where the cops are, especially not by using macros to locate all the cops at the same time.

Locating has become so widespread over the years that it has virtually eliminated any aspect of stealth and ambushing, the preservation of which is specifically why teams were not made visible to one another on the map by default.

  4. SR is one activity which cops frequently manage to win, but even with SWAT tanks it doesn't mean that they win in a great majority of cases. Criminals get 8/8 safes cracked in 90%+ of bank robberies and that's somehow not a problem that needs resolving, I don't see why we'd suddenly need to nerf something that does not shift the win ratio in cops' favour significantly when criminals still successfully complete SRs in spite of swat tanks. SWAT tank was around for 10+ years and still criminals rob stores left and right.

This sounds like looking for a fix for something that isn't broken. To put it bluntly, criminals do not need to have an advantage in every single activity on this server. Sometimes cops can have an advantage too, one of the few activities that they have a fair standing in is the SR and that's partially thanks to the swat tank. Yes some SRs are closer to tank spawn locations than others and that means that the balance is shifted in cops' favour. But some SRs are in hard to reach places with many rooftops and hills from which criminals can snipe or stand in the circle far off the ground thus being extremely difficult to arrest, should we be banning use of high places too then because criminals gain a massive advantage from them?

What can you do about it? Get off the SR roof and shoot the tank or snipe the driver. The vehicle's health is higher than average but it can still be destroyed within seconds by one person. The driver can be easily shot and killed too. Besides the ability to knock a player off of their feet, the tank can do nothing else - a second cop still needs to reach you to arrest you. You greatly outnumber the cops so use that fact to spread out and take them or their vehicles out.

got i, the decision is certainly the same replacing crown vic with chevy. If it's ok, if not, no

The only real difference is that your suggestion will as of now be voted against by people who like Crown Victoria and would like to keep it.
However those same players might actually also like and be in favour of adding your suggested mod if it did not mean replacing a car that they like.

But whatever you end up choosing to suggest is okay. It is after all only a suggestion.

I would not use it more if it was a reshader of the same vehicle with the same behaviour.

Although the vehicle might have different charackteristics, all police vehicles are very capable of ramming, I wouldn't say that this one would be better at ramming myself.

I am curious what the top speed of this vehicle is compared to FBI Rancher, as FBI rancher has a very powerfull ram.

While all vehicles will ram successfully based on their acceleration and speed at the time of impact, increased weight means that a vehicle won't come to a stop, change direction or take off the ground as easily after collision as a low weight vehicle would in comparison. Prime example of this is the Enforcer with its massive weight which means that it can often plow through multiple vehicles like a hot knife through butter, even while moving at relatively low speeds.

To make a conclusion, from this suggestion. Vehicle handling and balance stays the same. Only what it is replacing crow vic with chevy model. I'll put the date on poll to close on 30.11.2023.  if the 70% or above of community wants swap of model can it be replaced @DROT ? So to 30.11. everyone can vote and write their opinion after that it can be closed.

There is no guarantee that a vehicle mod will be added whatever the outcome of a vote is, but it certainly becomes more likely to happen the more people vote in its favour.

However it is worth mentioning that a new police vehicle mod does not necessarily need to replace an already existing police vehicle mod or even be added to a current police vehicle. It could potentially be added to one of many other unused civilian 4-door vehicles instead. Consider creating a separate poll purely for gathering of support for this or any other police vehicle mod - which vehicle it will end up being applied to can be decided afterwards. Unless of course you want to replace specifically Crown Victoria for whatever reason.

  8. Opinion on the appearance of the vehicle aside, the car drives the way it does because it was modified to be a ramming vehicle. It was given far more weight in comparison to other police vehicles and handling/speed/acceleration reduction to match that perk. Changing its appearance does not mean that its handling will be altered.

On the other hand Sultan and Buffalo versions were made to drive exactly the same as one another and are both high-speed chase vehicles. If high speed and maneuverability is what you wish to see as part of this newly suggested vehicle mod, it would probably be wiser to suggest that visual mod for either Sultan (which too is rarely used) or Buffalo.

What is currently Crown Victoria is unlikely to have its handling changed to match the other two because it serves a different, specific purpose unfulfilled by any other police vehicles.

Experienced policemen may apply for position of Pro Cops Tester, they will be tasked with testing and eventually inviting officers whose applications were approved and have passed the PC entry test. This is a role which comes with great responsibility as those appointed as new testers will essentially have the last say in who joins the PC group, monitored solely by SAPD HQ.

If you're interested in becoming a tester and believe that you posses significant experience in both daily police tasks and PC procedures but are also active, communicative and speak understandable English; you may attempt to obtain this role.

  11. If an organisation has a gr marker then they should be available for robbery. It should be forbidden for organisations to intentionally work around this.

Alternatively, the option that I would personally favour and suggest is for organisation bank account money to go below 0 if their account is already empty when being robbed. The next time they deposit money it will first have to cover up the debt. Perhaps for as long as their bank money it is below 0$, that organisation can't rob anyone else but can still be robbed, to avoid people purposefully not depositing any money in their own org bank.

Can't sit on both chairs at once, either you are part of the gr system or have your gr marker removed. Anything else just calls for manipulation.

  12. Having one vehicle that an online player last entered/interacted with not be affected by the vehicle respawn would mean 1 unrespawnable vehicle per each player at most.

I think that this probably wouldn't affect the server performance negatively too much if at all. More so with the current low player count.

So I agree with the idea although more than 1 vehicle per 1 player is probably an unnecessary overkill.

  13. The current timer is already short. Nobody ever guards the jail, the only thing that criminals need to do is have one person come and jailbreak them. However they already rarely ever jailbreak because it's already a short period.

If the timer is even further reduced to something as ridiculous as 150sec which is two and a half minutes, nobody will bother to jailbreak anyone ever again. Nobody minds waiting two minutes to finish the whole sentence, in fact they would waste more time if they tried to run away, there's no point in escaping anymore.

So first off, no more jailbreaking. That's one less activity on the server, I wouldn't say that's what it needs right now.

Then, reducing the time also means affecting the balance of other activities such as those of BRs, where robbers would be able to return twice as fast. Same goes for any other location that a cop may be trying to clear out. The time frame in which they can arrest a group of people will effectively be halved since the first people arrested will come back before the other part of the group ever gets arrested too.

So let's add a significant increase to difficulty for cops to the list of downsides too.

And finally we've the fact that this will make criminal gameplay significantly easier. Where's the thrill if getting arrested doesn't mean anything? If you'll still have plenty of time to make it back for an activity, if you'll be out in two minutes, then why even bother trying to escape cops? It's no longer a matter of "should I try to run away, or should I take the risk and try to kill these cops" since there's literally no risk to be taken. Everyone can just be a rambo, even if they fail fuck it... You'll be out of the prison and back at that same place before you even realize that you were jailed.

So that's a significant decrease in difficulty for criminals.

Overall as a consequence of reducing the jail timer we've:

    1) A completely killed-off jailbreaking activity.
    2) Changed balance of every cop vs crim activity, double the challenge for cops.
    3) Piss easy gameplay for criminals who are out of jail in two minutes.

No, I don't think that this is a good idea.

If anything the timer should stay the same.
I'd ever dare say that increase in jail time should be considered to reintroduce a reason for criminals to jailbreak again.

  14. I don't think that the money reset should be thought about at all until the economy is fixed.

Fix the prices, income, expenses and everything related to it. In case that you do miraculously somehow make it work, only then should old money be erased. There is no point to wiping money until the previous step is done. If the wipe happens and the economy doesn't get fixed afterwards (SAES is notorious for taking forever to implement something, that is if it's not forgotten halfway through) we'll be in a worse position than we are now with a bunch of annoyed players, one less thing to come back to, and an equally broken economy. This can't be done as a half-assed, quick patched attempt at affecting server activity.

Tldr - No money wipe until economy is fixed.

  15. I think that it should remain as short and as simple as possible if it will be universal. Clubs can reach out to applicant if they really need additional information of some sort.

Things like other names used, age and gender I personally wouldn't care about or include in an app for SWAT. Nor would anyone be asked to agree to be active daily.
If there's a possibility for limited customization that'd be great, like an option to only have some section in your app but not the others. In that case one section could ask for only minimal amount of information, clubs that require more information could enable more sections. Or an ability to choose which of default listed questions can be inside your application form rather than writing your own.

Of course if nothing like that is possible then I'd suggest what I had said at first, which is to keep things short and simple.
