    Hello,

    I have recently switched our forum software back to Invision Community from NodeBB.

    I have not taken this decision lightly, but there are various reasons.

    The way the NodeBB software is setup is that we rely on "plugins" for all the additional features we use on our website. Unfortunately, none of these are maintained anymore, so it would require us to fork and maintain all the plugins we were using ourselves or pay for NodeBB for "support" to do it.

    I would rather we pay for software subscription than for support each time we do a software update.

    I have spent today migrating everything from NodeBB to Invision Community.

    I have managed to migrate all the users (6,000+), forum categories (300+), topics (3,100+) and posts (320,000+) but I was unable to migrate groups or profile covers/photos.

    You might need to reset your password before you can login.

    I have setup our built in bug tracker so you will no longer need to submit issues via GitHub. You can request access back to your private forums as long as you are the organisation leader/hq

    Feel free to use the forums as normal, all the features you are used to using will be added back over the next week.

    You may experience a few issues with posts where coloured text, spoilers, centering of text/images or embed videos no longer work as these did not use standard markdown and was unable to be converted to WYSIWYG.

    If you are the owner of these post, you will need to edit and adjust accordingly.

    If for some reason you prefer the "light mode" (eye cancer) theme, you can select this by going to the bottom of the site, clicking "Theme" and selecting "Default".

    Power Hour Information

    @Scorpyo has created a resource which handles and sets up a "power hour" within seconds, the events over the weekend actually served as a decent test and we are happy with the outcome, therefore we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a number of these each month.

    We will ping everyone on our discord server each time a power hour will be in play

    Please make yourself familiar with the rules and information listed in the following topic to prevent yourself from being punished.

    @Scorpyo has created a resource which handles and sets up a "power hour" within seconds, the events over the weekend actually served as a decent test and we are happy with the outcome, therefore we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a number of these each month.

    We will ping everyone on our discord server each time a power hour will be in play

    Once it starts, you will get an in-game notification in the top bar information window and from that point, depending on how the power hour is set up by the host, you will the opportunity to use the majority of the spawns unrestricted, special vehicles will spawn around the map (such as Rhinos and Hydras) and you will receive information on how to spawn special weapons which have been activated at the time (such as Miniguns and Rocket Launchers).

    If you do not wish to participate, you can use the following command: 

    /safezone

    This will transport you to BC outdoor cinema, which is the current designated safe zone

    During the power hour, some people are playing like ALL THE RULES are thrown out the window, this is NOT the case.

    The only changes to rules during power hour are the following:

    1. DEATHMATCHING IS ALLOWED!
    2. REVENGE KILLING IS ALLOWED!
    3. AVOIDING ARREST IS ALLOWED!
    4. SPAWN / MARKER KILLING IS NOT ALLOWED. ANYONE CAUGHT BREAKING THIS RULE WILL BE BANNED FOR THE REST OF THE HOUR!
    5. ANY BR DURING THE HOUR WILL NOT COUNT ON THE TOP DAILY LIMIT FOR GANGS!

    ALL OTHER SERVER RULES ARE STILL IN PLACE (as listed in F1 and HERE), so for example, if you spam the main chat with non-English or abuse the construction panel to block banks etc, expect to be punished!

    In other news, there have been reports by the San Andreas Meteorologist Society that San Andreas is facing unprecedented amount of rainfall today due to Storm Tombaa and has issued a red weather warning due to risks of flooding and danger to life, so be prepared to rescue people and to head to higher ground!


    Christmas Raffle & Stats Rewards

    During the month of December, we will be keeping an eye on numerous statistics on both individuals and organisations and will be giving away in-game rewards and properties for those who top the list.


    We will be looking at store robs, bank safes cracked, vips, arrests and more! See https://stats.saesrpg.uk/ for more ideas of what we might be tracking...


    We will also be doing another raffle, this time for Blueberry Bank.


    There is no minimum requirements to take part this time, you will get an entry for every second (literally) you played during the month.


    This means the more you play the more entries you get. You do not need to be actively playing to be counted, just logged into your account and alive on the server. We will not be punishing people or not counting people for being afk.


    P.S. Jetpacks have been re-added back for those with access to the donator spawn.

    Birthday Event & Christmas Bonus

    On the 23rd of November, SAES became 19 years old, therefore to celebrate this, I will be holding a night of in-game events tomorrow (26th Nov) at 19:00 (GMT/Server Time) with numerous prizes to be won.

    In other news, with 30 days left until Christmas, we are putting the following donation changes in place:

    From today (00:00 - 25th November 2022) until 23:59 on the 31st of December 2022, the following changes to donations are in place.

    • Double donation points: (2 points for every 1 donated)
    • Ingame cash reward is $300,000 per 1 donated (instead of $100,000 per 1)
    • Keep an eye out for other festive games and events running this month for your chance to win some prizes!
