At first, we tried to counter this by teaching all immigrants how to fight, but over time, we realized that fighting alone wasn’t enough as the level of violence escalated. This led us to start searching for weapons. However, obtaining weapons as immigrants was extremely difficult. To protect ourselves, our children, our workplaces, and our families, we decided to come together and establish contact with those who had been here longer than us.
