Years ago, we ran PENsource, an open repository where community members could develop scripts and submit features directly to SAES:RPG via GitHub pull requests.
With real-life commitments often taking up developer time and a steady stream of great ideas sitting in the Suggestions board, we are considering reviving the project to give players a direct path to contribute to server development.
How It Would Work
Community PRs: You pick up an approved suggestion from the forum or propose a quality-of-life feature, write the code, and submit a pull request.
Code Review & Integration: The development team reviews the code for quality, security, and performance before merging it directly into production builds.
Recognition: Accepted contributions would be credited in official changelogs and update notes.
Why Revive It?
Faster Feature Turnaround: Allows highly requested suggestions, minigames, and tweaks to make it into the game even when the core team is tied up.
Collaboration: Anyone with coding experience can help shape the server's future directly.
Joining the team: PENsource serves as our active contributor pipeline, those who consistently submit high-quality, reliable code and adhere to our standards may be invited to join the Development Team.
We want your feedback:
Would you like to see PENsource return?
If you have development experience, would you actively contribute scripts, fixes, or systems?
