[FEEDBACK] Bringing Back PENsource?

  1. 1. PENsource, shall we bring it back?

Question

Hey everyone,

Years ago, we ran PENsource, an open repository where community members could develop scripts and submit features directly to SAES:RPG via GitHub pull requests.

With real-life commitments often taking up developer time and a steady stream of great ideas sitting in the Suggestions board, we are considering reviving the project to give players a direct path to contribute to server development.

How It Would Work

  • Community PRs: You pick up an approved suggestion from the forum or propose a quality-of-life feature, write the code, and submit a pull request.

  • Code Review & Integration: The development team reviews the code for quality, security, and performance before merging it directly into production builds.

  • Recognition: Accepted contributions would be credited in official changelogs and update notes.

Why Revive It?

  • Faster Feature Turnaround: Allows highly requested suggestions, minigames, and tweaks to make it into the game even when the core team is tied up.

  • Collaboration: Anyone with coding experience can help shape the server's future directly.

  • Joining the team: PENsource serves as our active contributor pipeline, those who consistently submit high-quality, reliable code and adhere to our standards may be invited to join the Development Team.

We want your feedback:

  1. Would you like to see PENsource return?

  2. If you have development experience, would you actively contribute scripts, fixes, or systems?

Drop your thoughts and vote in the poll above!

Sounds like a good idea to me;
Don't have much experience myself but I'm sure there are some that might be able to get some good new stuff for the server.

Yes, yes and yes I'd love to see its return.

Still around and active within the weekends, would definitely actively contribute. I'd love to work on some changes on the current scripts in-game and even work to bring many.
