That never meant anything casual. “Hey!” I answered, already standing up and waiting what he have to say. “We need those construction vehicles to the site now!,” my boss barked through the phone. “Crew’s waiting. The concrete’s coming in three hours. Can you handle it?” “On it!” I said, grabbing the clipboard and heading straight for the yard. The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, but the machines gleamed like giants waiting for orders. I radioed the drivers, double-checked the tie-downs, and made sure every vehicle was fueled and ready. Within twenty minutes, the first flatbed was rolling out. By noon, the machines were roaring at the construction site, tearing into the earth and moving like clockwork.
