Go to a vehicle shop, click on the car, then click on "Vehicle information" check the "max Velocity". If it shows the same as on your vehicle means that you don't have V8 and if it's higher that means that you have V8 on it.

Check the "maxVelocity" on your car by putting it for sale and pressing "atl"

I think a cracking system would be nice for carjackers, like the bank cracking system. How higher the price of the car is how higher the crack numbers are. And some vehicles have drugs in the trunk or weapons that you can steal, or getting some money for finding drugs/weapons.
