SANDWICHMAKER WINS!

Look, the difference between toast and sandwich is about their heat. In order to make a toast, you need a toast machine to heat the bread and make the cheese or butter (whatever you put in) melt. To make sandwich you don't need a machine, because you put whatever you want to put in between 2 breads, and eat it like that. Thats why there are "packaged sandwiches out there in buffets, cafes and canteens etc.

So, in order to enjoy a toast, you MUST eat it hot therefore you are in need of a machine. And this machine is called TOAST machine. But in sandwich there is no need to eat it hot thus you must eat it COLD. Therefore you don't need a machine for that.

As a result, machine's name being "sandwich maker" makes no sense. It is a toast maker, it will always be a toast maker!

LIVE LONG BROTHERHOOD OF TOASTS!

Well technically, you are the sandwich maker, as you make the sandwich.

It's also not a 'toastmaker', as I think those are those rotary ones you find at shitty hotels.

Therefore, wouldn't the correct name be a 'Sandwich Toaster', as you are toasting a sandwich you have created?

P.S. @Bartman your sandwich toaster is fucking filthy, get it washed, you scruffy cunt!

good argumment, will take new poll (forum bugged doesent work :/)
but putting meat/tomato/cheese togheter witht toasts & serving it cold is a bad sandwich, also we dont serve cold burgers either!

toasts are made at toast-bakery, making them warm with toaster (or on an amd-toaster), but only the true sandwichmaker makes toast + cheese + meat + tomato warm & awesome sandwich!

You can only do a new poll in the first post of a topic. (no one likes a poll mid-topic).

Also, I think you are looking too far into this..... it's quite disturbing...

The Dutch have a special name for the one you show a "tosti ijzer", Google translate calls it a "Sandwich Iron" and it's verified so, okay. Anyway, you use that to toast the bread and melt cheese and ham in between the slices. Some commercial sollutions of it call it a contact grill, so that may settle it. A toaster just toasts the bread and does nothing more.

Well literally speaking it shouldnt be caled a sandwich maker since it doesnt make the sandwich, it only toasts the bread. However, its still not a toast-maker since toast is the term gives to slice of bread that was cooked not a whole sandwich
so i believe that it should be sandwich-toaster since it is made to cook an already made sandwich.
edit: just read the previous replies and realized that brophy already said the exact same thing

also an sandwichmaker doesent even toast the bread as a toaster, you get 2 different toast-textures from a sandwichmaker & toaster.
an taosted toast is more crispy & more air between the toast, perfect to put butter that melts & some meat over it
an sandwichmaker does the bread more like grilling, it pressures togheter the bread & the stuff inbetween, almost no air inbetween the toasts

  • the sandwichmaker does heat up everything instead just toast

also my sandwichmaker tells its a sandwichmaker

@Brophy sometimes you need to stay at work without stuff to do & no co worker free to talk, so you dig something deeper of the meaning from an sandwichmaker. without this, we wouldnt have any deffinition from any word nowdays :duck:
