Use of exploits reminder

  • Barely feels like much time has passed since I made a thread similar to this a while ago but apparently some individuals never learn.

Anyways, over the past few days a few clan members have been conducting an investigation into a few cases of potential money exploits that have been taking place around the server due to some very niche yet major undetected bugs in certain server scripts.

As many of you have probably seen, the majority of cases were brought to a close yesterday which resulted a large sum of individuals receiving a ban from our services. You can see many of the individuals that have already decided to appeal here despite a lot of the denial.

Alongside this, I write with regret that during the followup of our investigations it was revealed that Gengar, a long standing clan member, had been found assisting one of the offenders in trying to cover it up. This is a reminder to all current clan members and potential future recruits that this behaviour from a clan member is not tolerated at all and therefore he has been removed from his position within the clan.

The 2 primary scripts that were exploited involve both the casino and captain scripts and as such they have both been disabled for the time being. Having a large number of jobs/scripts available on the server is beneficial for both us and the community however our options when introducing new features become very limited when there are individuals that will exploit features without reporting them. Transporter has since been fixed by our dev team.

TL;DR We have a zero tolerance policy towards bug exploiters and all bugs should be reported on bugs.saesrpg.uk or alternatively privately to @Mega9 or another dev if the feature has a chance of being heavily exploited in a short period of time.

    Thanks,
    SAES HQ

  • perma ban for money bug abusing!! +1

  • Thanks for publicly shaming me. I get it that you wanted me out of the clan and I normally wouldn't even bother posting anything regarding that, I'd just move on with my game and have fun with my friends. But there was no reason whatsoever to shame me like this in front of entire community and that irritated me enough to make this post. Just for the record, I did not try to assist anyone to cover up anything. You have screenshot of the chat, you can clearly see that I advised person involved to cooperate with you guys. The fact that SAES HQ team is twisting everything to suit their own needs is different story. It's no secret that they wanted me out of the clan for quite some time, taking away every bit of access I had with some bullshit excuses with every chance they got. Good for you that you finally found some justification to remove me completely. This announcement alone shows how eager you were. When was the last time you announced clan members who were removed with reasons of their removal? You had people removed from clan because they were deliberately deleting reports of their friends without solving them and none announced anything about that. You had people removed from clan because SAES HQ team has access to read their forum private messages in which, apparently, they were stating their disagreements with some actions from the clan, none ever made announcement regarding that. Let's not mention clan members who were selling benefits on SAES to players for couple of PayPal bucks and some Steam items. And many others who were removed along the way in the past 7 years that I'm here. None ever announced publicly anything about any of them. But hey, let's just shame Gengar and let's ban people. Not only the ones who are abusing (completely fair ban when it comes to them), but also the ones who were just given money from abusers. Since when is it a crime to be on the receiving end of /give command? If you approached the player and asked him to hand you over the money because it came from bug abuse, he would have given it to you without any objection. But no, let's just ban and shame people. Fact that Bone takes money from abusers himself and uses it to sponsor his own events and even buy some fancy properties is no big deal around here. And let's not forget that NanoBob built his own program which automatically inputs numbers for cracking safes in bank robs and gang robs and not only uses it around whenever he likes it, but also distributes it to some other clan members for their own usage. There were times when he was leading his own gang and abusing his access to restart banks in order to use his program, doing a lot more then just 2 bank robs per day and yet none ever did anything about it. I guess rules everyone has to follow don't apply once you reach position of SAES HQ.

  • This is some interesting story, I hope it doesn't get removed. Transparency is important.

  • @Gengar I won't speak for SAES HQ, but I will speak about being "on the other end of /give". Players who received money that was obtained by abusing the bug weren't actually banned, but the money was taken from them and deleted. You can confirm with @Bone If you want to. As for the others who got banned, we have every bit of proof that actually shows that they abused or helped in it, and you will see that evidence later in the ban appeals. Also, while investigating, we found out that it's not the first time or the first bug those in question abuse.

I hate that this happened the way it happened, but everyone, in the end, tasted what they were cooking, no?

No need to confirm anything with anyone. Fugitive did not abuse any bug, he just received the money from one of the players who abused the bug. That ended up with him being banned, all false claims about me covering up the bug abuse and Z demotion and warning. And if anyone from SAES who was investigating the bug just approached him and asked him to hand over that money, he would have done so without a single objection. All this could have been solved a lot more simpler. There was no need for Fugitive to be banned, nor for Z to be denied and SAES HQs would still have their justification to remove me from clan, which is what they were after for quite some time.

Please take the time to watch his ban appeal then, you will find out that he, maybe, lied to you as well.

I’m pretty sure Gengar has taken his time and watched my ban appeal, in which it’s stated 10 times that intention was there but the abuse itself never happened as an action. Honestly, I do not know how many times I need to repeat the difference between intention and action. Plus, I ain’t a Muslim and a Muslim told me today, what the hell, not even Allah punishes someone for his intentions if they are not embodied in actions. And it ain’t only allah let’s not face it religiously, at no court someone has been judged and convicted for intentions.I guess I’ll need to repeat the intention-action 80 times more until my keyboard starts breaking down, cause the times I’ve already said it in the ban appeal are not enough, I guess.

  • @Hesha I wonder what made you delete the logs you posted on his ban appeal. Maybe cause what those logs were depictin had already been answered above?
With that said, and from my point of view, it shows of how much in rush decisions are made.
Getting someone banned for something that has already commited is something inevitable and of course correct, but getting people banned cause there are only speculations he commited an abuse? that sounds fishy to me. Of course, in situations like these, there has always been a catch.

Gengar stated above numerous abuses throughout the time saes clan members had commited, I had never been aware of some of them, but I already knew about the scripts NanoBob had used for his own good, as a simple member of the community, I am demanding an answer in which, why people like NanoBob have never been punished for their actions but people like Gengar (whom I had the opportunity to meet by playin this game and understand what kind of a person he is) are being mistreated like that?

PS. I am not trying to make things easy for anyone, decisions have already been made. I am just asking for questions that I d be more than glad to get. cheers

  • @Cazzone Hi, please re read them again. It was actually a missclick and I have restored them as soon as I was notified (which is like less than 5 minutes), so please take your time to read them.

Again, as for Gengar, the HQs can pretty much answer as it's a matter above my paygrade 🤷
